We are excited to have John McNeil (certified municipal specialist, registered professional forester) start us off with how to turn plans into policy to help your municipality’s urban forestry program be successful. Learn about partnerships in the Buffalo region with Sharon Bachman ( Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County) and Ross Hassinger ( City of Buffalo) as they share information on the Community Tree Stewards program, and Greg Robinson (Olmsted Parks) as he discusses how to manage an urban forest in a public/private partnership.

Continuing education credits with ISA, DEC Pesticides, SAF, and CNLP available

DEC invites the public to comment about an amended proposal to address contamination related to the Morse Industrial Corporation, site ID #755010 (Ithaca, Tompkins County) within New York's State Superfund Program. Public comments about the proposal will be accepted through July 23, 2021.

DEC also has scheduled an in-person public meeting on Wednesday July 14, 2021 at 6:00 PM to discuss the proposed remedy and accept public comments.

Creatures of the Night:  Humans are not adapted for life in the total dark, but many animals are! We will take a full moon walk to look for signs of these amazing creatures while using our senses to safely explore a trail at night.  We'll also play wildlife games to discover some of the unique adaptations that help nocturnal animals to navigate, hunt and survive in the dark.

Please register only if you plan on attending. While spaces are limited at each event, there are many events to choose from throughout the summer!

This is a family program. Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Drop-offs are not allowed. Younger siblings, children who have not attended camp before, or have aged out of camp are all welcome!

This hike is rated easy.
