DEC invites the public to comment about a proposal to address contamination related to the Former Gulf Oil Terminal, site ID #130165 (Oceanside, Nassau County) within New York’s State Superfund Program.
The initial public comment period for the work plan was to end on March 29, 2021. An extension request has been received and the public comment period is being extended. All comments must now be submitted by April 28, 2021.

Together, kids and their parents or caregivers can enjoy a fun hour-long outdoor activity. For children in grades K-5.

We welcome those who have any type of physical challenge to all our programs. If you call ahead to let us know your needs, we will be happy to learn how we can serve you.

  • You must pre-register by phone; you will receive a call confirming your registration or waitlist status. PLEASE SPEAK CLEARLY when leaving your name and phone number as our system does not have caller ID. Unless you receive a callback, you are not registered. *Registration for popular programs is limited to 3 people per party.
  • All participants are required to wear a mask; social distancing of 6 feet or more will be practiced whenever possible. 
  • In case of poor weather, programs may be cancelled.
  • We cannot accommodate organized youth/civic groups at these programs. Please call to make other arrangements.

NYSDEC will hold a virtual public information session on a recently finalized habitat management plan for Willard Wildlife Management Area (WMA) located in the town of Ovid, Seneca County.

The event will feature a 45-minute presentation that discusses the WMA’s history, habitat goals, and planned management actions, followed by a question and answer period. This presentation will also be recorded and made available to the public afterward.
