The water in Five Rivers’ Beaver Pond comes from somewhere and goes somewhere after if leaves us. But where is it coming from, and where does it go? A game of Pooh sticks will show us the way! Join us for a walk along the Vlomankill and Beaver Tree trails to follow the path water has carved out of our landscape. Learn where people have shaped the watercourse, too. Total distance is approximately one mile.

Registration is limited. Call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 by Wednesday, November 25 to register. If registration fills, you may be placed on a waiting list.

For the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers, and in compliance with guidance from New York State, the New York State Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), social distancing practices must be followed. Masks must be worn throughout guided programs, while at a roving program, and on the trails whenever a 6-foot distance cannot be maintained between individuals or households.

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.

We would appreciate receiving feedback from our users. Please let us know if you encounter any difficulties viewing or using this calendar by sending an email to the DEC webmaster.
