We welcome those who have any type of physical challenge to all our programs. If you call ahead to let us know your needs, we will be happy to learn how we can serve you.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Pre-registration is required for ALL programs; call 716-683-5959 to register for an in-person program. For virtual programs, please register online at www.reinsteinwoods.org/events.
  • You must pre-register by phone; you will receive a call confirming your registration or waitlist status. PLEASE SPEAK CLEARLY when leaving your phone number as our system does not have caller ID. Unless you receive a callback, you are not registered. 
  • All participants are required to wear a mask; social distancing of 6 feet or more will be practiced whenever possible. 
  • Reinstein Woods’ restrooms will not be available. In case of poor weather, programs may be cancelled. 
  • We cannot accommodate organized youth/civic groups at these programs. Please call to make other arrangements.

Become a Five Rivers “5R”

September 22 through October 12

Become a Five Rivers “5R” by walking at least five of our trails between September 22 and October 12. Explore at your own pace. Maybe you’ll discover a new favorite! Visit the Friends of Five Rivers for more details about how to record and share your achievement.

Rensselaer Resource Recovery LLC - Applicant applied to NYSDEC for permits to construct and operate a municipal solid waste processing facility with an annual throughput up to 150,000 tons. Project is located at 36 Riverside Avenue, Rensselaer, New York.

A Legislative hearing pursuant to part 624 to hear and receive unsworn comments from the public to be held on October 6, 2020 at 5:00 pm. OUTDOORS AFTER SCHOOL

Are you tired of sitting at a desk all day? Join us after school to get some fresh air, stretch your legs, and have fun outdoors. Meet at the visitor center to begin our adventure. Come for as many sessions as you’d like, and dress for outdoor activity. For children in grades K-5 and their caregivers. Call by the Monday before each session to register for that week’s program.

Registration is limited. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 by the Monday before the program to register. If registration fills, you may be placed on a waiting list.

For the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers, and in compliance with guidance from New York State, the New York State Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), social distancing practices must be followed. Masks must be worn throughout guided programs, while at a roving program, and on the trails whenever a 6-foot distance cannot be maintained between individuals or households.

Carver Sand & Gravel, LLC, seeks the necessary permits to expand the life-of-mine area at the Middleburgh Quarry from 106 acres to 160 acres. Project is located at Middleburgh Quarry, NY Route 30, near Frisbieville Lane, Town of Middleburgh, Schoharie County.

A legislative hearing pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 621 (Uniform Procedures) to hear and receive unsworn comments from the public on the application and the DEIS will be held on October 8, 2020, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be conducted electronically through the Webex Events platform.
