Would you like to take a walk in nature, but would rather not go alone?

Join the "Walkers' Club" at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center on Tuesday mornings, 10:30 to 11:30 am.

Participants will gather at the Visitor Center and choose which trail they will walk that morning. This is an opportunity to walk with others and make new friends. These walks are not guided or led by staff. Walkers' Club is a free activity.

This public meeting has been canceled. The public comment period is still on and goes until April 15, 2020.

A Draft Unit Management Plan (UMP) for the Beaverkill Campground located in Sullivan County is now available for public review. The public is invited to submit input on the draft plan, which will guide future management of the campground over the next 10 years.

A public meeting is scheduled to provide information about the proposed amendment and to get input from the public on March 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at:

Rockland Town Hall, 95 Main Street, Livingston Manor, New York 12758

The meeting will provide an opportunity for people to learn more about the proposed management actions in the draft plan and to comment on the proposals. Following a short presentation, DEC staff will be available to answer questions and accept public comments. The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. Please call (845) 256-3018 at least two weeks in advance of the meeting with specific accommodation requests.

In addition, the public can visit the Beaverkill Campground Survey to share comments on recreational opportunities. Survey Responses will be accepted until April 15, 2020.

The draft plan for the Beaverkill Campground can be viewed and downloaded at DEC's website. Copies are also available in electronic format on compact disc and may be requested by calling (518) 457-2500.

All comments on the Draft Beaverkill Campground UMP must be received by April 15, 2020. DEC will review these comments as it finalizes the UMP for the Beaverkill Campground. DEC invites the public to the meeting to learn about a proposal for no further action related to the Former Cleaners Products Supply Site (Sunnyside, Queens), within New York's State Superfund Program. Public comments also are welcome at the meeting, and during a comment period that runs through April 10, 2020.
