What’s the connection between Capital Region birds and the coffee in your cup? Explore this question with Brew the Roost, a series of interactive quilts that highlight the seasonal migration of birds and the importance of shade-grown coffee in maintaining biodiversity in coffee-growing regions. Quilts will be updated every two weeks as the fall migration progresses.

This meeting is open to the public.

The Shellfish Advisory Council (SAC) was developed as a means of promoting communication between DEC and commercial harvesters, culturists, and shellfish dealers, managers, and other stakeholders on important issues impacting the shellfish industry. Shellfisheries staff provide information on changes in regulations or requirements for the shellfish industry. This also serves as a forum for the shellfish industry to bring issues of concern to DEC for discussion.

Topics being discussed during this meeting include conditional harvesting programs, the Long Island Shellfish Restoration Initiative, Vibrio Control Plan updates, and a summary from the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference (ISSC).

If you should have any questions concerning the meeting, please contact Gregg Rivara by e-mail or phone (631-852-8660 ext. 35).

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.

We would appreciate receiving feedback from our users. Please let us know if you encounter any difficulties viewing or using this calendar by sending an email to the DEC webmaster.
