DEC invites the public to comment about a proposed remedy to address contamination related to the Williamsbridge Gardens Site (Bronx), within New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program. Public comments about the proposal will be accepted through July 27, 2019.

Many people are inspired by Five Rivers, including local artists. During July and August, members of the Bethlehem Art Association will exhibit some of their works related to the site in the visitor center.The exhibit is open during visitor center hours, Monday through Saturday, 9am to 4:30pm; closed Sundays and state holidays.

Meet the artists at a reception from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, July 25.

Family Fun:  IT’S EASY BEING GREEN!
 
Do you want to make your home and lifestyle more sustainable, but worry about the difficulty or cost? Let us provide you with some easy (and fun!) ways to be better consumers. There will be several educators from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as well as the Museum of Innovation and Science (MiSci), that will present methods for composting, raising insects for us and animals, rain water management, recycling paper, and more!  Designed for ages 12 and up.

Space is limited. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 by Wednesday, July 24 to register.

NOTE: Organized groups (scouts, schools, hiking clubs, etc.) are welcome, but are asked to call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register.

June 22, Class #6 - Which woodpecker am I? Learn how to identify the different woodpeckers found in Reinstein Woods. For adults and children ages 8 and older. Registration required; call 716-683-5959.

July 27, Class #7 - Search for sparrows in the woods and learn about the eight species that visit here. For adults and children ages 8 and older. Registration required; call 716-683-5959.

August 24, Class #8 - Why do birds migrate? Learn which species to look for as they prepare for their long journey south. For adults and children ages 8 and older. Registration required; call 716-683-5959.
