Coregonus artedi

Cisco inhabits cold lakes and remains in deeper areas during the summer. It is native to ten watersheds in Great Lakes drainage, the Finger Lakes, lower elevations of the Adirondacks, and Chautauqua Lake. Abundance has declined in the westernmost watersheds and lower elevation lakes, including Lake Erie.
