Minimum Qualifications Strictly adhered to based on Civil Service requirements | Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC or Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis. or Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 18 or higher and: Eligible for transfer under Section 70.4: Must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications below; 55-b/55-c Candidates must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications below and include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from Civil Service which indicates approval for the 55-b/55-c program. Open competitive minimum qualifications (provided for 55b/c candidates and 70.4 transfer eligibles): 1) Six years of architectural experience in design or drafting under the direction of a registered architect including work on the design of multi-discipline buildings with architectural/engineering coordination having a construction cost in excess of $500,000. You MUST list on your application the type of project, building type, cost, and extent of your involvement. (Examples of building types include the following: industrial, commercial, health care, academic, and office structures.); OR 2) A five-year degree in architecture resulting from completion of a program accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board, Inc., or a program registered by the New York State Education Department for professional purposes AND one year of architectural design or drafting experience under the direction of a registered architect; OR 3) A New York State Architect's license with current registration. Substitution College study in a program leading to a degree in the following areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, for up to four of the six years of experience required in "1" above at the rate of 30 semester college credit hours equaling one year of experience: architecture or architectural technology, building science, construction technology, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, or drafting technology with an emphasis on architectural or building construction. |
