Minimum Qualifications Strictly adhered to based on Civil Service requirements | Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC or Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis. or Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 11 or higher and: Eligible for transfer under Section 70.4: Must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications below; or 55-b/55-c Candidates must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications below and include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from Civil Service which indicates approval for the 55-b/55-c program. Open competitive minimum qualifications (provided for 55b/c candidates and 70.4 transfer eligibles): Either 1. five years of qualifying experience;* Or 2. graduation from high school (or possession of a high school equivalency diploma issued by a recognized educational authority or a USAFI GED diploma - high school level) AND two years of qualifying experience;* Or 3. graduation from a high school technical education program in technical aeronautics, technical architectural drafting and building construction, technical chemistry, industrial chemistry, technical electricity/electronics, technical mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry, AND one year of qualifying experience;* Or 4. 60 college semester credit hours, including 24 college semester credit hours** in any combination of the following courses: engineering; public health; environmental and/or engineering technology; environmental science; drafting; computer science; mathematics; and/or land surveying. YOU MUST SUBMIT A LIST OF QUALIFYING COURSES WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Include the course title, number of semester credit hours per course, name of college or university, and date (or expected date) of completion. Applications submitted without a list of relevant courses will be disapproved; Or 5. an associate's degree in engineering technology. "Qualifying Experience" is defined as: engineering technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter. **Courses in the social sciences or public health policy do NOT meet the specialized credit hour requirements. If there is a viable promotion examination eligible list (three acceptors) for this position, candidates who qualify based on 70.4 transfer or under the 55-b/55-c options cannot be considered. |
