Minimum Qualifications

Civil Service requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in climate policy, climate science, economics, engineering, environmental sciences, government or political science, physical or natural sciences, planning, public policy, or sustainability, AND seven years of full-time professional experience in positions that encompass the establishment or management of environmental or clean energy programs; preparing or reviewing climate relevant policies, plans, projects, regulations or environmental impact statements; preparing professional testimony for use in hearings or trials or legal experience involving environmental matters related to climate, air pollution or clean energy; or preparing environmental analysis of climate change issues. Two years of this experience must have been at the managerial level.

A Master's degree in one of the required disciplines may be substituted for one year of professional experience if it was not used to meet the entrance qualifications. A PhD in one of the required disciplines or a JD degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
