Duties/Responsibilities Under general supervision, as a Senior Radio Dispatcher, you would provide direct supervision, training, and administrative support to Radio Dispatchers, including communication technicians and communication operators. Your administrative duties and responsibilities would include scheduling and performance evaluations. You would:
  • direct staff in the operation of base, fixed, and mobile communications;
  • prepare and maintain staffing schedules to ensure that all communication center shifts are staffed;
  • may reassign staff, as needed, to provide for adequate coverage;
  • design and maintain an operating manual to ensure standardized training in operational procedures;
  • train and coach staff in operational procedures;
  • institute and track testing procedures for communication devices within the communication center;
  • participate in exercises and drills from multiple government sources; and
  • maintain and prepare a log for all communications equipment located in the communications center.

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.

Transfer Eligible - Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: one year of permanent competitive service as a Communications Technician 1, SG-10.

Additional Comments Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must provide 24 hour response on a rotational basis and work during normal business hours.
