The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has proposed revisions to regulations for the bulk storage of petroleum (Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS)) and chemicals (Chemical Bulk Storage (CBS)) and for the management of used oil. DEC is revising these regulations to reflect changes in State laws and federal laws and regulations. Comment period ended Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

Webinar and Public Information Meetings

To help the public understand the proposed regulations, DEC held a live webinar on August 26, 2014 and public information meetings in Albany on September 4, 2014; New York City on September 9, 2014; and Rochester on September 11, 2014.

Public Hearings

Legislative public hearings to receive public comment about the proposed rules were held in Albany on October 14, 2014; Rochester on October 16, 2014; and New York City on October 23, 2014.
