Roster and Team Stats
The K-9 Unit is currently comprised of five officers and their K-9 partners. The officers patrol and work in only five of the nine regions of New York State. They have to concentrate their efforts where most of the wilderness area of the state is located. For New York State, that includes the Adirondack Park, the Catskill Mountains, and the Southern Tier.
The statistics for each K-9 Unit member is listed below:

Name: T/Sgt. Keith L. Isles
Partner: K-9 Major
Region:4, Schoharie County
Notes:T/Sgt Isles is the K-9 Unit Program Coordinator.
He joined the K-9 Unit in 1986 and is currently handling his third K-9. He was named 2002 Shikar Safari Wildlife Officer of the Year.
As the Division K-9 Instructor, T/Sgt. Isles makes sure all of the K-9s are properly trained and certified.

Region: 7
Notes: Officer Brett Armstrong joined the K-9 Unit in 2004. This is his first K-9.
Name: Officer Jim Hunt
Partner: K-9 Matz
Region: 9
Notes: Officer Jim Hunt joined the K-9 Unit in 2004. Matz is his first K-9 and is named in recognition of T/Sgt. Richard W. Matzell, Ret., founder of the K-9 Unit.
Name: Officer Mike Brazauskas
Partner: K-9 Jazz
Region: 8, Schuyler County
Notes: Officer Mike Brazauskas joined the K-9 Unit in 1992. He is currently handling his second K-9. He was named 2005 Shikar Safari Wildlife Officer of the Year.

Notes: Officer Steve de la Rosa joined the K-9 Unit in 1992 and is currently handling his third K-9.
