Roster and Team Stats

The K9 Unit is currently comprised of 8 ECOs and their K9 partners. The officers patrol and work in seven of the nine regions of New York State.
The statistics for each K-9 Unit member is listed below:

Name: T/Sgt. Keith L. Isles
Partner: K-9 Shamey
Region: 4/Schoharie County
Notes: T/Sgt Isles is the K-9 Unit Program Coordinator.
He joined the K-9 Unit in 1986 and is currently handling his fourth K9, "Shamey" who is named in recognition of Lt. Bill Shamey.
As the Division K-9 Instructor, T/Sgt. Isles ensures all of the K-9s are properly trained and certified.

Region: 3/Sullivan County
Notes: ECO Steingart joined the K9 unit in 2006. Buck is the State's first Trout detection K9.

Notes: ECO Arp and Warden joined the K9 Unit in 2006

Name: ECO Steve de la Rosa
Partner: K-9 Gunner
Region: 5/Essex County
Notes: ECO Steve de la Rosa joined the K-9 Unit in 1992 and is currently handling his third K-9.

Notes: ECO Brett Armstrong joined the K-9 Unit in 2004. This is his first K-9.

Notes: ECO Mike Brazauskas joined the K-9 Unit in 1992. He is currently handling his third K9.

Region: 9/Wyoming County
Notes: ECO Jim Hunt joined the K-9 Unit in 2004. Matz is his first K-9 and is named in recognition of T/Sgt. Richard W. Matzell, Ret., founder of the K-9 Unit.
