Pollution Prevention Information for Small Businesses
The Pollution Prevention Unit is a non-regulatory program within the DEC. We provide outreach and technical assistance to businesses that would like to improve their environmental compliance by reducing or avoiding the generation of waste.
Pollution prevention methods can even be used to reduce or avoid many regulatory requirements. Our publications include technical information for small businesses of all types, plus specific manuals for auto maintenance shops, lithographic printers, and electronics and computer firms, with many more manuals on the way.
Our small business workshops are always free and provide valuable information for the small business owner. Please contact us if you cannot find the answer to your pollution prevention question within these pages.
