Organizational Group Camping (File #511)
Other than Roger's Rock Campground, our campground facilities do not have organized group site accommodations. Therefore, the Department does not provide such an area for camping purposes. Organizations requesting such accommodations should be advised of this policy and told that they need to make the appropriate number of reservations necessary for their accommodations and be turned away unless at the time of arrival at a campground there are sufficient sites available to accommodate the group. If these sites are available, groups may be accommodated as "walk-in" campers.
Large groups from organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, boys' and girls' summer camps, etc., will be treated in the same manner as an equal number of members of the general public. One permit will be issued for one specific site assigned for up to six members of such groups.
The following Administrative Guidelines will also be observed:
- AS PER THE ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES, ONE MEMBER OF THE GROUP OCCUPYING THE SITE MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND THE GROUP CHAPERON(S) MUST BE PRESENT WITH THE GROUP AT ALL TIMES.
- ORGANIZED GROUPS WILL BE LIMITED TO TWO (2) WEEKS OF CAMPING AND CAMPING PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED IN THE NAME OF THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON OR THE NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION AND SIGNED BY THE RESPONSIBLE CHAPERONE.
- ALL GROUPS MUST PROVIDE SUFFICIENT TENTS OR TRAILERS TO ACCOMMODATE ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROUP.
All inquiries regarding group camping at Roger's Rock will be referred to Roger's Rock or the Warrensburg Office at (518) 623-1200. Under no circumstances will groups be accommodated at other campground facilities except on regular numbered sites providing space is available.
