Contagious Disease - Campers (File #365)
There have been instances in the past where a camper had, or during their stay, come down with a contagious (measles, mumps, chicken pox, scarlet fever, etc.). Such a situation, if not properly handled, could result in a epidemic and quarantining of the entire campground.
If a Conservation Recreation Facility Supervisor or their representative, becomes aware of such a condition, it is their responsibility to notify the Regional Operations Supervisor's office at once. The Regional Operations Supervisor and /or their representative should then notify the local county health officer who is charged with the responsibility for taking appropriate action.
Any action which the CRFS, or their representative, must take to handle this type of situation should be done quietly and without alarming other people on the campground.
A refund may be authorized by Central Office in the event the camper and their party are required to leave. The CRFS or their representative will follow the administrative guidelines found in File #542 - Refunds.
