§266.1 General classification

The air quality within the political boundaries of Chemung County shall be maintained using Levels III, II, and I as set forth in Part 256, Ambient Air Quality Standards--Classifications System, for the areas described in the following sections.

§266.2 Level III

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Wygant Road and Route 14; thence easterly along Wygant Road to Ridge Road; thence southerly along Ridge Road to Ithaca Road; thence due east along a straight line to Route 13; thence due south along a straight line to Bowman Hill Road; thence westerly along Bowman Hill Road to the intersection of Bowman Hill Road with a straight line running southerly from the intersection of Ridge Road and Ithaca Road to the intersection of Newtown Creek and Route 17; thence southerly along a straight line to the intersection of Newtown Creek and Route 17; thence southerly along Newtown Creek to the Elmira city line; thence clockwise along the city line to the Southport town line (Chemung River); thence southwesterly along a straight line to the intersection of the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and Curtis Street; thence southwesterly along Curtis Street to Roberts Street; thence southerly along Roberts Street to Caton Avenue; thence northwesterly along Caton Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue; thence northerly along Pennsylvania Avenue to South Main Street; thence northerly along South Main Street to the Chemung River; thence westerly along the Chemung River to a point due south of the intersection of Columbia Street and Water Street; thence due north to said point; thence northerly along Columbia Street to West Gray Street; thence easterly along West Gray Street to College Avenue; thence northerly along College Avenue to West 17th Street; thence westerly along West 17th Street to Robinwood Avenue; thence northerly along Robinwood Avenue to West 19th Street; thence northeasterly along a straight line to the intersection of Route 328 and Philo Road; thence northerly along Route 328 to the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad; thence westerly along the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad to the Horseheads-Big Flats town line; thence northerly along the Horseheads-Big Flats town line to Route 17; thence easterly along Route 17 to the intersection of Route 17 and Route 328; thence northerly along Route 328 to Route 14; thence northerly along Route 14 to the beginning point.

§266.3 Level II

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Route 13 and Bowman Hill Road; thence easterly along Bowman Hill Road to Moss Hill Road; thence easterly along Moss Hill Road to Ormisten Road; thence due east to Erin-Horseheads town line; thence counterclockwise along the Horseheads town line to Ridge Road; thence northerly along Ridge Road to Smith Road; thence westerly along Smith Road to Route 14; thence due west to the Catlin-Veteran town line; thence clockwise along the Catlin town line to Barnes Hill Road; thence southerly along Barnes Hill Road to the Power Transmission Lines; thence southwesterly along the Power Transmission Lines to the Chemung-Steuben county line; thence southerly along the county line to the Chemung River; thence easterly along a straight line to the intersection of Route 17E and Carpenter Road; thence northeasterly along Carpenter Road to Big Flats Road; thence northeasterly along Big Flats Road to the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad; thence easterly along the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad to the Big Flats-Horseheads town line; thence due east to Philo Road; thence southerly along Philo Road to Halderman Hollow Road; thence westerly along Halderman Hollow Road to Golf Course Road; thence southerly along Golf Course Road to the Elmira Heights village line; thence southerly along the village line to the Elmira-Horseheads town line; thence southerly along a straight line to the intersection of Reformatory Road and the Elmira city line; thence counterclockwise along the city line to Hillcrest Road; thence westerly along Hillcrest Road to the Big Flats-Elmira town line; thence southerly along the town line to Route 17E; thence northwesterly along Route 17E to a point due north of the intersection of Hendy Creek and Big Flats-Southport town line; thence due south to said point; thence easterly along the town line to the Chemung River; thence easterly along the Chemung River to the Elmira city line; thence due southwest to Dry Run; thence southeasterly along Dry Run to Seley Creek; thence easterly along Seeley Creek to the Chemung River; thence due east to Route 17; thence northerly along Route 17 to Route 13; thence northerly along Route 13 to the beginning point; except that area delineated as Level III.

§266.4 Level I

All that area in Chemung County not delineated as Levels III and II.
