§269.1 General classification

(a) The air quality within the political boundaries of Columbia County shall be maintained as set forth in Part 256, Ambient Air Quality Standards--Classifications System, using Levels III, II, and I as detailed below.

(b) The classification of the air over the Hudson River and its islands shall be the same as the classification of the adjacent land mass.

§269.2 Level III

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Route 66 and Claverack Creek; thence southerly along Claverack Creek to Taghkanic Creek; thence due west to Route 9; thence northwesterly along a straight line to the intersection of Route 9G and the Hudson city line; thence clockwise along the city line to Route 9; thence northerly along Route 9 to Maple Avenue; thence easterly along Maple Avenue to the power transmission lines; thence northeasterly along the power transmission lines to Claverack Creek; thence southerly along Claverack Creek to the beginning point.

§269.3 Level II

(a) All that area west of a line commencing at the intersection of the Columbia-Rensselaer county line and the east bank of the Hudson River; thence easterly along the county line to Valatie Kill; thence southerly along Valatie Kill to Route 203; thence southwesterly along Route 203 to the Chatham-Kinderhook town line; thence southerly along the town line to County Road 28A; thence westerly along County Road 28A to the Valatie village line; thence southwesterly and westerly along the village line to Route 9H; thence southerly along Route 9H to the Ghent-Claverack town line; thence easterly along the town line to Eagle Street; thence southerly along Eagle Street to the Philmont village line; thence southeasterly along the village line to Aqaqamuck Creek; thence southeasterly along Aqaqamuck Creek to the Taconic State Parkway; thence due wet to Claverack Creek; thence westerly along Claverack Creek to the junction of Taghkanic Creek; thence due west to Hiscox Road; thence southwesterly along Hiscox Road to Route 82; thence northwesterly and westerly along Route 82 to Route 9G; thence southwesterly along Route 9G to County Road 33; thence southerly along County Road 33 to Eastern Parkway; thence easterly along Eastern Parkway to Hilltop Road; thence southerly along Hilltop Road to County Road 8; thence westerly along County Road 8 to Viewmonte Road; thence southerly along Viewmonte Road to Roundtop Road; thence westerly along Roundtop Road to Route 9G; thence southerly along Route 9G to the Columbia-Dutchess county line; thence westerly along the county line to the east bank of the Hudson River; except that area delineated as Level III.

(b) All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Route 295 and the Chatham village line; thence due east to the Taconic State Parkway; thence northeasterly along the Parkway to Route 295; thence due west to County Road 13A; thence southerly along County Road 13A to the Chatham village line; thence counterclockwise along the village line to the beginning point.

All that area in Columbia County not delineated as Level III and II.
