§278.1 General classification

(a) The air quality within the political boundaries of Greene County shall be maintained as set forth in Part 256, Ambient Air Quality Standards--Classifications System, using Levels IV, III, II, and I as detailed below.

(b) The classification of the air over the Hudson River and its islands shall be the same as the classification of the adjacent land mass.

§278.2 Level IV

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the west bank of the Hudson River and the Greene-Ulster county line; thence northwesterly along the Greene-Ulster county line to Route 9W; thence northerly along Route 9W to the Catskill village line; thence southeasterly along the Catskill village line to the west bank of the Hudson River; thence southerly along the Hudson River bank to the beginning point.

§278.3 Level III

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway and the Greene-Ulster county line; thence northerly along the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway to County Road 47; thence southeasterly along County Road 47 to County Road 30; thence easterly along County Road 30 to the Catskill village line; thence clockwise along the Catskill village line to the west bank of the Hudson River; thence southerly along the Hudson River bank to the Greene-Ulster county line; thence northwesterly along the Greene-Ulster county line to the beginning point; except that area delineated as Level IV.

§278.4 Level II

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Greene-Albany county line and the west bank of the Hudson River; thence westerly along the Greene county line to Route 9W; thence southerly along Route 9W to the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway; thence southerly along the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway to Kaaterskill Creek; thence easterly along Kaaterskill Creek to Catskill Greek; thence easterly along Catskill Creek to the west bank of the Hudson River; thence northerly along tile Hudson River bank to the beginning point.

§278.5 Level I

All that area in Greene County not delineated as Levels IV, III, and II.
