Part 298: Rensselaer County

§298.1 General classification

(a) The air quality within the political boundaries of Rensselaer County shall be maintained using Levels III, II, and I as set forth in Part 256, Ambient Air Quality Standards--Classifications System, for the areas described in the following sections.

(b) The classification of the air over the Hudson River and its islands shall be the same as the classification of the adjacent land mass.

§298.2 Level III

All that area west of a line commencing at the intersection of the Troy-Schaghticoke city line and the east bank of the Hudson River; thence clockwise along the Troy city line to Winter Street (Route 40); thence southwesterly along Winter Street to Route 4; thence southerly along Route 4 to Routes 9 and 20; thence southeasterly along Routes 9 and 20 to Gilligan Road; thence southerly along Gilligan Road to Hays Road; thence westerly along Hays Road to Route 9J; thence southerly along Route 9J to the East Greenbush-Schodack town line; thence westerly along the town line to the east bank of the Hudson River.

§298.3 Level II

All that area within the following boundaries:

(a) The corporate limits of the village of Hoosick Falls.

(b) Commencing at the intersection of Route 67 and the east bank of the Hudson River; thence easterly along Route 67 to the Valley Falls village line; thence clockwise along the village line to Melrose-Valley Falls Road; thence southerly along Melrose-Valley Falls Road to the Pittstown-Schaghticoke town line; thence southerly along the town line to the Deepkill; thence southeasterly along the Deepkill to Deepkill Road; thence southeasterly along Deepkill Road to Route 7; thence southwesterly along Route 7 to Route 278; thence easterly along Route 278 to Route 2; thence easterly along Route 2 to Cropseyville-Poestenkill Road; thence southerly along Cropseyville-Poestenkill Road to Poestenkill-West Sand Lake Road; thence southerly along Poestenkill-West Sand Lake Road to Route 43; thence westerly along Route 43 to Route 150; thence southerly along Route 150 to Millers Corners Road; thence southeasterly along Millers Corners Road to Nassau-Millers Corners Road; thence southerly along Nassau-Millers Corners Road to the Nassau village line; thence clockwise along the village line to Route 203; thence southerly along Route 203 to the Columbia-Rensselaer county line; except that area delineated as Level III.

§298.4 Level I

All that area in Rensselaer County not delineated as Levels III and II.
