§311.1 General classification

(a) The air quality within the political boundaries of Ulster County shall be maintained as set forth in Part 256, Ambient Air Quality Standards--Classifications System, using Levels IV, III, II, and I as detailed below.

(b) The classification of the air over the Hudson River and its islands shall be the same as the classification of the adjacent land mass.

§311.2 Level IV

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and the west bank of the Hudson River; thence westerly along a straight line to the intersection of Tuyten Bridge Road and Route 9W; thence southerly along Route 9W to Route 32; thence southeasterly along a straight line to Kingston Lighthouse at the mouth of Rondout Creek; thence northerly along the west bank of the Hudson River to the beginning point.

§311.3 Level III

(a) All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Greene-Ulster county line and the west bank of the Hudson River; thence northwesterly along the Greene-Ulster county line to the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway; thence southerly along the Thruway to County Road 2; thence due east to the west bank of the Hudson River; thence northerly along the Hudson River bank to the beginning point.

(b) All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Route 9W and Route 32 in the city of Kingston; thence northwesterly along Route 9W to the Kingston city line; thence counterclockwise along the Kingston city line to a point, in the mouth of Rondout Creek, due south to the Kingston Lighthouse; thence due north to the lighthouse; thence northerly along a straight line to the beginning point.

§311.4 Level II

(a) All that area within the corporate limits of the Village of Ellenville.

(b) All that area east of a line commencing at the west bank of the Hudson River and the Ulster-Orange county line; thence westerly along the county line to the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway (Interstate Route 87); thence northerly along the Thruway to Brookside Road; thence westerly along Brookside Road to Route 32; thence northerly along Route 32 to the New Paltz village line; thence clockwise along the village line to the intersection of Route 299 and Wallkill River; thence westerly along Route 299 to Springtown Road; thence northerly along Springtown Road to the New Paltz-Rosendale town line; thence westerly along the town line to the Marbletown-Rosendale town line; thence northerly along the town line to Route 213; thence northwesterly along Route 213 to Route 209; thence northeasterly along Route 209 to the intersection of Route 209 and Fording Place; thence westerly along Fording Place to Hurley Mountain Road; thence northeasterly along Hurley Mountain Road to the intersection of Hurley Mountain Road and Route 28; thence easterly along Route 28 to Route 209; thence northerly along Route 209 to the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway; thence northerly along the Thruway to the Saugerties town line; thence westerly along the town line to Schoolhouse Road; thence due north to the Glasco Turnpike; thence due northeast to Churchland Road; thence northerly along Churchland Road to Route 212; thence easterly along Route 212 to Route 32; thence northerly along Route 32 to Kings Highway; thence northerly on Kings Highway to the Ulster-Greene county line; thence easterly along the county line to the west bank of the Hudson River; thence southerly along the Hudson River bank to the beginning point.

§311.5 Level I

All that area in Ulster County not delineated as Levels IV, III, and II.
