§1.16 Southern Zone Regular Deer Season.
(a) Open areas. All portions of the Southern Zone open to deer hunting pursuant to section 11-0907 of the Environmental Conservation Law, except Suffolk and Westchester Counties.
(b) Open season. The Southern Zone regular deer season shall be 23 days beginning the third Saturday of November.
(c) License requirements. Any person who hunts or takes deer during regular Southern Zone deer season must possess, on his or her person, a license valid to hunt deer during the regular season.
(d) Valid tags. Regular season deer tags, deer management permits and deer management assistance permits. For junior archers only, bow/mz season either sex tags are valid.
(e) Other requirements. Except as otherwise provided in this section, the provisions of the Environmental Conservation Law relating to deer hunting, including hunting hours, manner of taking, tagging, reporting, possession, and transporting, shall apply to hunting and taking deer pursuant to this section.
