NYEC GPS CORS Site History

20 March 2002

Site Coordinates Updated. The reference coordinates for this site were updated in March, 2002 using 10 days of data from 1/27/02-2/5/02. On-line Processing User Service (OPUS) was used to compute the coordinates and Horizontal Time Dependent Positioning (HTDP) was used to update the positions to the 1997.0 epoch.

Site Coordinates Updated. The reference coordinates for this site were updated in May, 2001 using 5 days of data from 4/17/01-4/21/01. On-line Processing User Service (OPUS) was used to compute the coordinates and Horizontal Time Dependent Positioning (HTDP) was used to update the positions to the 1997.0 epoch.

GBSS Software Updated. Magellan's (Ashtech's) Geodetic Base Station Software was upgraded from Version 3.0 to 3.1 today. The most significant change is the conversion of RINEX file names to the standard NGS CORS 1 hour session naming convention of "A-X" rather than Ashtech's "0-9,A-J".

On-line Processing User Service (OPUS) was used to compute the coordinates and Horizontal Time Dependent Positioning (HTDP) was used to update the positions to the 1997.0 epoch.

Site Coordinates Updated. The reference coordinates for this site were updated in December, 2000 using 5 days of data from 11/26/00-11/30/00. On-line Processing User Service (OPUS) was used to compute the IGS97 and NAD83 coordinates and Horizontal Time Dependent Positioning (HTDP) was used to compute the velocities.

NYEC GPS Base Station joins NGS cooperative CORS network. Today our GPS base station joined the National Geodetic Survey's (NGS) Cooperative Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) network. NGS now links to our web page from their cooperative network page and has provided us with a new set of station coordinates.

23 May 2000

GPS Base Station Moved from Latham, NY to Delmar, NY. The GPS continuously operating reference station was moved to a new location near Delmar, NY on 23 May 2000. Please review GPS Base Station Coordinates to obtain the appropriate the coordinates for all GPS projects. The Delmar location coordinates must be used beginning 24 May 2000 at 00:00 hrs. UTC (23 MAY 2000, 20:00 hrs. EDT).
