Environmental Justice Advisory Group
The DEC Office of Environmental Justice has established the New York State Environmental Justice Advisory Group, which is directed and chaired by the Environmental Justice Coordinator and consists of representatives from state, local and federal government, community groups, environmental groups, and business.
The Advisory Group meets several times a year and provides independent advice and recommendations to the Department on matters relating to environmental justice (EJ), including the integration of EJ principles into the Department's programs, policies, regulations, legislative proposals and activities. The role of the Advisory Group is solely advisory in nature.
