| 8/11 | Celebrate Smokey Bear's 63rd Birthday at Mount Loretto Unique Area | Mount Loretto Unique Area, 6450 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island. Saturday, August 11th, 2007. 1PM to 3PM. New York State Forest Rangers will have wildland firefighting equipment for the public to view. The National Park Service, the New York City Police Department, and the Fire Department of the City of New York will also exhibit their equipment. Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve, Greenbelt Education Center, and the New York City Urban Park Rangers will have displays. The public can also engage in hands-on activities, nature walks, environmental games, and a raffle with free prizes. Bring your cameras as the guest of honor, Smokey Bear, will make an appearance at the event.
