DEC And DOH to Brief Public about New York Air Brake November 7

The New York State Departments of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Health (DOH) are hosting two community meetings regarding the New York Air Brake superfund site on the north east side of the City of Watertown, the agencies announced today. DEC and DOH will hold an availability session in the afternoon and a public meeting in the evening to address questions about the cleanup of the New York Air Brake site and health-related concerns.

Representatives from DEC and DOH will meet with individual members of the public about the former New York Air Brake Site. Agency staff knowledgeable of the historic, current and future cleanup activities at the site and health concerns in the vicinity of the site will be available to have one-on-one discussions with members of the public. There will be no formal presentation, so people are encouraged to come in at any time during the two-hour session.

State agency representatives will provide a formal presentation on the history, the current status and future activities that are occurring in and around the former New York Air Brake Site. There will be a panel of DEC and DOH staff to hear concerns and answer questions from meeting attendees.
