DEC Announces Temporary Closure of Woodville Boat Launch on Canandaigua Lake
Parking Lot Available for Ice Fishing Access
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will close the boat launch at the Woodville Fishing Access Site on Canandaigua Lake off Rte. 21 in South Bristol, to make repairs that will allow for improved launching and retrieval of boats. The boat launch will close November 19 and remain closed for approximately two months.
The site's parking lot will remain open for ice fishing access or shore fishing. Canoes and kayaks may be launched at this site during the project. Anyone who would like to launch or retrieve a boat during this time period should use the Canandaigua Lake State Marine Park launch on the north end of the lake, at 620 South Main Street the City of Canandaigua. Camp Onanda, located on the west shore of Canandaigua Lake, 4965 West Lake Road, will also be available for launching boats after November 15, when the State Marine Park launch is not usable due to ice or other weather conditions.
