"Discover Norrie Point" Continues on June 2
A Monthly Series of Nature Programs at Norrie Point Environmental Center
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Hudson River Research Reserve continues its series of monthly nature programs at Norrie Point Environmental Center in Staatsburg, N.Y.
June's family friendly program, "Beach Seining", will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00 am. Do you wonder what lives out of sight in the Hudson River? Seining involves pulling a 30-foot net through the water and checking out the fish, crabs, and other river life caught in its mesh. You can watch from shore or jump into available waterproof waders and help pull in the net.
"Discover Norrie" programs are held monthly. For more information, call 845-889-4745 x109 or check our calendar of events link listed below. All programs will start at The Nature Center.
The Norrie Point Environmental Center is located in the Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park in Staatsburg, Dutchess County. The Center is operated by the DEC in cooperation with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historical Preservation, and with support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
