DEC to Host Open House about Dutchess County Flood Maps on Oct. 23

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will be hosting an open house for the public on Thursday, Oct. 23, to provide an opportunity to learn more about preliminary flood maps recently developed for Dutchess County. The open house will take place from 4-8 p.m. at the Town of LaGrange Court Room in LaGrangeville, Dutchess County.

Staff from DEC will be joined by representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to answer questions from the public about the preliminary revised flood maps released in August 2008, as well as to discuss development standards in floodplains and flood insurance. Residents can stop in at any time during the event.

The Town Court is located at 120 Stringham Road, LaGrangeville, NY 12540. Directions: From the Taconic State Parkway, travel to the State Route 55 exit. Proceed westbound on SR 55 and turn left onto Stringham Road.
