DEC Reschedules Hearing on Draft Hazardous Facility Siting Plan
New Date, Extended Public Comment Period Announced
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced the new date for a public hearing on the State's draft Hazardous Waste Facility Siting Plan that was postponed from earlier this week due to weather. DEC also extended the public comment period on the draft plan from April 19, 2004 to May 19, 2004.
The rescheduled hearing will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2004, at 6 p.m. in the Lewiston-Porter Senior High School Auditorium, 4061 Creek Road, Youngstown, Niagara County. For directions, call (716) 754-8281. Interpreter services can be made available to the hearing-impaired at no charge upon request to DEC within a reasonable time period prior to the hearing.

The draft Siting Plan and the draft generic EIS can be found on the DEC website under the Division of Solid and Hazardous Materials' "What's New" section.
