Non-Resident Hunting Licenses, Permits and Stamps
Licenses may be purchased over the counter at license issuing outlets, such as sporting goods stores, town clerk offices and some major discount stores. Hunters under 16 must apply for a license in person and be accompanied by parent or legal guardian. Licenses are no longer sold at DEC regional offices, except Region 1 on Long Island. Licenses may also be purchased by mailing: 1) a standard license application (PDF, 49 Kb), 2) a copy of your driver's license, and 3) a previous hunting license or a copy of your hunting education certificate to:

NOTE: Those under 18 who are hunting big game for the first time as a holder of a big game license must be accompanied, for the entire season, by a parent or legal guardian, or a person designated in writing on the Mentored Youth Hunter and Trapper Permission Form (PDF, 24 kb) who is 18 years or older with at least one year's experience in hunting bear or deer. The parent, guardian or person over 18 must have a current license that allows the hunting of big game.
