SPDES Permit Program: Renewing a SPDES Permit
RENEWAL applications are for facilities that are presently permitted and for which the existing permit is about to expire. SPDES permits have a duration of five years.
DEC will mail a renewal application form to you about 8 months in advance of the expiration date of your permit. Please complete and return it at least 6 months (180 days) before the permit expires. This renewal is mailed to the name and address of record. Therefore if the name or address of the permittee changes, please notify the Division of Environmental Permits staff of DEC as soon as possible.
