Lake Sturgeon License
Statutory Authority: ECL 11-0535 and 6 NYCRR Part 175 and Part 182.7
This license authorizes the importation, possession, and sale of Lake Sturgeon legally obtained outside New York. There are two types of licenses:
Importer - This license authorizes the importation of legally taken, unprocessed Lake Sturgeon into New York. The licensee may import only to persons possessing a valid NYS Endangered/Threatened Species Processor license.
Processor -This authorizes the licensee to purchase unprocessed Lake Sturgeon from persons possessing a valid NYS Endangered/Threatened Species Importer license.
Please note:
- The importer must attach a non-reusable valid tag to the caudal flesh of each unprocessed Lake Sturgeon.
- Both licenses expire one year from the date of issuance.
- Each license has a fee of $150.00 of which $25.00 is a non-refundable application fee.
