Paradox Lake

Max Width: ~75 miles
Thermocline: ~23 feet

Access:

Within DEC Paradox Lake Campground off of Route 74, two miles east of the Hamlet of Severence. The boat launch has a hard surface ramp with parking for 25 cars and trailers. There is a day use fee during peak season and the launch is open year round.

General Fishing Information:

Paradox Lake has a natural population of lake trout. The DEC stocks rainbow trout each spring and is also doing an experimental stocking of landlocked salmon. Other fish species present in Paradox Lake are lake herring, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed and yellow perch.

Fisheries Management:

Paradox Lake is stocked with landlocked salmon and rainbow trout annually. The west basin has a maximum depth of 52 feet and is suitable to salmonids in the summer months. The east basin is not deep enough to provide cold waters for salmon in the summer.

Special Fishing Regulations apply. Ice fishing permitted.
