Moon Lake

Physical Features:

Elevation: 389 feet
Area: 243 acres
Shoreline Length: 4.3 miles
Max Depth: 20 feet
Mean Depth: 12 feet
Town: Theresa

Access:

DEC hand launch site off Moon Lake Road, north of the Village of Theresa. 10 hp limit.

Fish Species:

Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Tiger Muskellunge, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Yellow Perch

Fishing:

Moon Lake is a productive warmwater lake. Northern pike are very abundant with fish up to 29 inches reported. Tiger muskellunge do well in Moon Lake. Tigers up to 40 inches have been reported. Like many very productive waters, gamefish may be challenging to catch in this lake because natural food, in the form of smaller prey fish, is very abundant. Moon Lake was stocked with tiger muskellunge and walleye, as of 2012.
