Ore Pit Pond

Physical Features:

Elevation: 680 feet
Area: 3 acres
Shoreline Length: 0.3 miles
Length: 0.15 miles
Max Depth: 48 feet
Mean Depth: 23 feet
Town: Copake

Aquatic Plant Life:

Rooted aquatic vegetation limited to shoreline.

Access:

Taconic State Park in Copake Falls.

Fish Species:

Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Golden Shiner, White Sucker, Brown Bullhead, Banded Killifish, Pumpkinseed, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch

Fishing:

Stocked annually with approximately 300 rainbow trout 8-9" in length. The pond is a popular destination when visiting the park.

Ice Fishing:

Prohibited.
