The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Shoreline Length: 4.5 miles
Length: 2 miles
Max Depth: 51 feet
Mean Depth: 24 feet

Aquatic Plant Life:

Limited rooted aquatic vegetation.


Boat launch located at East Sidney Dam Recreation Area on South West shore of lake.

Fish Species:

Common Carp, Golden Shiner, Emerald Shiner, Spottail Shiner, Bluntnose Minnow, White Sucker, Brown Bullhead, Rock Bass, Pumpkinseed, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch


The lake is mainly fished for its panfish, but some huge bass have been caught. It is also a popular destination for carp fisherman.


Prohibited by Town of Sidney.
