Tidal Wetland Areas

The following tidal wetland areas provide opportunities for fishing, hiking, canoeing, and seasonal small and big game hunting in upland and salt water wetland habitats.

  • Timber Point
  • Bellport Bay
  • Fireplace Neck
  • Johns Neck Creek
  • Havens Point
  • Long Beach Bay
  • Little Northwest Creek
  • Babylon Marshes

Region 1 State Land Access permit is required. Call NYSDEC at (631) 444-0270 for more information.

Consult hunting on Long Island for tidal wetland hunting maps and other information on hunting opportunities and obtaining hunting permits.

Recreationists must observe regulations for use of NYSDEC managed lands in Suffolk County.
