East Caroga Lake

Introduction

East Caroga Lake is located in the Town of Caroga, Fulton County. The lake provides excellent warm water fishing and rainbow trout fishing.

Access

For access to the lake, boaters can use the state campground which is located off of Route 29A, 9 miles northwest of City of Gloversville. This campground has a beach launch and parking for 15 cars and trailers.

Fishing

Fish found within this lake include: smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, yellow perch, pumpkinseed and rainbow trout. This provides fishermen a chance to catch this beautiful trout along with the possibility of catching a warm water game fish. Trolling flashy artificials in the evening offers a good chance to catch these fish.

Fish Stocking

Each year the lake is stocked with approximately 1,200 rainbow trout. This stocking helps to keep the fishery strong and successful for everyone to enjoy.

Regulations

Special regulations exist for East Caroga Lake. Ice fishing is permitted on East Caroga Lake.
