Adirondack Forest Preserve Snowmobile Trails
2009 Snowmobile Trail Inventory

As part of an ongoing snowmobile planning effort within the Adirondack Park, DEC has compiled a complete GIS-based inventory of the existing snowmobile trail network in the Adirondack Forest Preserve. Below are maps derived from this information depicting:
- the location and total mileage of Forest Preserve roads and trails currently designated for use by snowmobiles in each unit; and
- where snowmobile grooming has most recently been approved pursuant to Adopt-a-Natural-Resource Agreements (AANRs) or Temporary Revocable Permits (TRPs)
Please note:
These maps reflect existing situations in each unit and do not reflect trail relocations, replacements or closures approved in recently adopted Unit Management Plans (UMPs) or proposals in UMPs that have been drafted for public review.
It is also important to note that the grooming information reflects the type of grooming equipment approved to be used on a particular trail and is not necessarily an accurate depiction of the type of equipment actually used.
