View waterfowl and wading birds, as well as hawk and owl migrations in spring and fall from these expansive grasslands, marshes and open-water areas on Lake Ontario.
Wildlife to Watch
- Northern harrier, many other varieties of migrating hawks and owls
- Bobolink, meadowlark, sedge wren, savannah sparrow and many varieties of migrating songbirds
- Pied-billed grebes, American bitterns and least bitterns, black terns
- White-tailed deer, coyotes, red foxes,raccoons and muskrats
- Waterfowl, including mallards, blue-winged teal, wood ducks, brant, Barrow's goldeneye and Harlequin ducks
- Snapping turtles and painted turtles
