McCarthy Road Campsite
The McCarthy Road Campsite offers a drive-to primitive camping opportunity. Accessible features at the campsite include a privy, picnic table, tent pad and fire ring. The surface of the campsite is a firm stable surface suitable for mobility devices.
Directions:
Take Number Four Road east out of Lowville. At mile 4 to 4½, Number Four branches to the left from Pine Grove Road. After another 13 to 14 miles Number Four ends at the intersection with Buck Point and Stillwater Road. Turn right onto Stillwater Road. At mile 2 to 2½, just past Moshier Road, the Herkimer County Line, the road reverts back to the Name Number Four Road. One and a third miles further is the McCarthy road on the right. Proceed three miles south.
