High = more than 2/3 of applicants receive a DMP.
Medium = between 1/3 & 2/3 receive a DMP.
Low = less than 1/3 of applicants will receive a DMP.
PP Req = only applicants with preference points have a chance of receiving a DMP. Preference points do not guarantee selection.
LO/DV = only qualifying landowners (greater than 50 acres) and veterans with disabilities will receive a DMP.
None = No DMPs are available.
NA = DEC is not authorized to issue DMPs in these units.
Notes:
- Preference points are won and lost on 1st permit selection. Preference points increase the chances of selection but do not guarantee DMP issuance.
- Qualifying Landowners and Disabled Veterans will receive their 1st choice DMP in all open WMUs.
- Non-residents with 3 or more preference points are eligible for DMP selection in all units where DMPs are available to residents unless the odds of selection are listed as LO/DV.
- WMU 1C is bowhunting-only from October - December. A special permit is Required during the January Firearms Season.
- WMUs 3S, 4J, and 8C are bowhunting-only during all deer seasons.
- DMP targets are not established for Long Island (WMU 1C), bowhunting-only units (WMUs 3S, 4J, 8C) or Adirondack units where DMPs cannot be offered.
- Bonus Permits are available in WMUs 1C, 3S, 4J, and 8C and possibly other units.
