Hunting Zone Boundaries

If you need to know the boundaries of the different hunting areas, go to Legally Defined Areas for Big Game Hunting for a description of the hunting zones.

Pilot Antler Restriction Project

A pilot program is now in place to improve the structure of bucks in four WMUs located primarily in Ulster and Sullivan Counties. The new regulations REQUIRE that bucks taken in WMUs 3C, 3H, 3J and 3K have at least one antler with 3 points (or more) which are at least one inch long. This restriction applies to the archery, regular and muzzleloading seasons.

Important: Hunters under 17 years of age are exempt from this restriction. A hunter under 17 may still take any buck with at least one antler that is 3 inches long or longer.

For more information see Pilot Antler Restriction Area.
