Upper Yaphank Lake

Fishing Information

Upper Yaphank Lake is populated with a mix of warmwater fish species and is also stocked with trout to provide additional fishing during the cooler months of the year.

Area: 19 acres
Maximum depth: 6 feet

Largemouth Bass
Bluegill
Pumpkinseed
Yellow Perch
Brown Bullhead

Species Present (stocked):

Brown Trout
Rainbow Trout

Fishing Regulations:

Suffolk County special fishing regulations exist.

Public Access:

Town of Brookhaven Park with playground and picnic area.

Directions: Upper Yaphank Lake is part of the Carmans River system located north of exit 66 of the Long Island Expressway and west of Yaphank Avenue (Route 21).

Restrictions: Hand launched boats are allowed; some shoreline access is available.
