Big Tupper Conservation Easement

In 2007, the State of New York purchased a conservation easement on 4,851 acres owned by Lyme Adirondack Timberlands I LLC. The easement is located in the Town of Tupper Lake in Franklin County and the Town of Piercefield in St. Lawrence County. Conservation easement terms limit future development, require sustainable forestry practices, and provide specific public recreation opportunities on the property.

Location and Access

Public recreation on the Big Tupper Easement includes:
1) A lean-to campsite on the northern shore of the Piercefield Flow (shown on the map linked at the top of this page). An access road to the Piercefield Flow is located to the south of Route 3.
2) Fishing, hiking, and nature observation within 300 feet of the Piercefield Flow (shown on the map linked at the top of this page).
3) Designated snowmobile trail.
4) No other public access is allowed on this property.
