Roeliff Jansen Kill Multiple Use Area
The Roeliff Jansen Kill Multiple Use Area consists of 128 acres in the Town of Milan, Dutchess County.
There are currently no designated trails on this state forest. The property does provide large undeveloped areas well suited for hiking, hunting and nature viewing.
There are no designated camp sites on this property. Back country camping is allowed. Camping for more than three nights or in a group of ten or more requires a permit from a Forest Ranger. Camping is prohibited within 150 feet from water, road or trail.
Hunting and Trapping
Geocaching is allowed although caches must be marked with the owner's contact information and may not be placed in dangerous or ecologically sensitive locations. See the February 2005 article in Conservationist Magazine for more information on geo-caching.
Tips for Using State Forests

There is a very small parking area off Taconic State Parkway.
Public access is 0.6 miles past Ferris Lane northbound on the Taconic State Parkway. There is no sign for this area. The lane directly of the Taconic State Parkway is very narrow.

There is an old railway bed near northern boundary. It provides a beautiful view of Roeliff Jansen Kill.
