Preston Lot Conservation Easement
The 1986 Environmental Quality Bond Act provided funds to purchase 6,737 acres of Forest Preserve in St. Lawrence and Herkimer Counties, and conservation easements on a portion of the holdings of Lassiter Properties Inc. The Preston Lot Conservation Easement is comprised of 1,246 acres in the Town of Parishville, St. Lawrence County. Conservation easement terms limit future development, require sustainable forestry practices, and provide specific public recreation opportunities on the property.
Location and Access
The Preston Lot Conservation easement can be accessed from Round Pond Road, a seasonal use highway off of the East Hill Road in Parishville. The property borders the East-West portion of the Round Pond Road.
- Public hunting is allowed from January 1 through August 31 each year.
- Public fishing and trapping are permitted in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Hiking, cross country skiing, back country camping, and other forms of non-motorized recreation are allowed on the property.
No roads or trails on the property are open for motor vehicles, ATVs, or snowmobiles.
