Seveys Conservation Easement
In 2007, the State of New York purchased a conservation easement on 11,739 acres owned by Lyme Adirondack Timberlands LLC. The easement is located in St. Lawrence County in the Town of Colton. Conservation easement terms limit future development, require sustainable forestry practices, and provide specific public recreation opportunities on the property.
Location and Access
No public access to the Seveys Easement is allowed except use of a boat launch and designated snowmobile trails. A car-top boat launch on the Raquette River may be used for non-motorized watercraft. The launch is located on the east side of State Route 56, approximately 1.3 miles north of its intersection with State Route 3. Designated public snowmobile trails also cross the property.
